The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in India authorized to conduct examinations for appointment to the various civil services of the Union. About University
VIT University (formerly Vellore Institute of Technology) is an internationally reputed private co educational university located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. The university was founded by Mr. G. Viswanathan in 1984 and is currently its chancellor. VIT was affiliated to the University of Madras until 2000. In the year 2001 the institution was conferred the status of deemed university by the Ministry of human resources, Govt. of India. In September 2006, it was renamed as VIT University.
VIT University conducts an entrance exam (VITEEE – VIT Engineering Entrance Exam) every year for selection of students for B-Tech programs . The entrance exam can be taken with an option of PCB for entry into B-tech Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Bio-medical Engineering programs, or with an option of PCM for all the 12 B-tech programs.
More than one lac students appear for the entrance exam. It is conducted in about 70 cities in all the states of India. Model question papers can be obtained by contacting the admissions department.
