IITs are of National Pride and Importance, well known the world over, for quality education in engineering, science and research in frontier areas. JAM-2009 has been announced for admissions into M.Sc, M.Sc -Ph.D dual degree at Bombay , Delhi , Guwahati, Kanpur , Kharagpur, Madras , Roorkee. JAM-2009 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign) with no age restriction.
Eligibility:
55% or above aggregate marks for General/OBC Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST and PD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalent percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s).
Application Procedure:
Online Procedure: Applications forms at website http://jam.iitkgp.ac.in from Nov 24, 2008. Last date for Submission is January 19, 2009
Offline Procedure: OMR application form along with Information Brochure, and Acknowledgement card will be available from Nov 24, 2008 to January 07, 2009 on cash payment of Rs.1000/- for OBC/General male candidates and Rs.900/- for General/OBC female candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST and PD from different city branches of Canara Bank.
The “OMR Application Form” and the “Information Brochure” can also be obtained by Post from the JAM Office of IIT Kharagpur by making a written request along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 1050/- for General category Male candidates, Rs. 950/- for General category Female candidates and Rs. 550/- for SC/ST and PD candidates, drawn in favour of “Organizing JAM-2009″, IIT Kharagpur, payable at Canara Bank, Kharagpur (Branch Code: 0190), and a self-addressed slip (11.0 cm x 6.0 cm). This fee includes Rs. 50/- as postal charges. Such requests must reach the JAM office, IIT Kharagpur, latest by January 7, 2009. The application material shall be dispatched by Registered Post.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board announced the JEM 2009.
Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/ Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in Universities/Colleges in West Bengal and B. Arch Course in Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University for the academic session 2009-2010, on the basis of a JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, to be conducted by the “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD”.
Eligilibilty Criteria: Students above 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009 must have passed H.S (10 +2) with atleast 50% in the relevant subjects like Phsics, Mathematics/Biology and Chemistry.
Application Form: Available from branches of United Bank of India on payment of Rs.500/-
Examination Centre: Will be in the State of West Bengal and Tripura.
